DREAMING TO BE A BIRD

I would like to be a bird

to fly everywhere with my own wings

instead of remaining in one place.

 

I would like to be a bird

in order to feed myself with what I find on earth

instead of being a slave to get something to eat.

 

I would like to be a bird

in order to be able to endure rain and sun

instead of living in a shelter like a prisoner.

 

I would like to be a bird

to go and come at any time,

not worrying myself with the 

meaning of the word “freedom”.

 

I would like to be a bird

in order to make a nest for my little birds

with de materials that I find in nature

without having to pay for them.

 

I would like to be a bird

to be equal to all birds

not being richer nor poorer than they.

 

I would like to be a bird

to have only what I need,

instead of having things and more things.

 

I would like to be a bird

to lead a simple way of existence

instead of having to bear the oppression

and the bondage of human life.
